EiP – Electrically instructed Person – Resetting of protective devices

Certification course leading to a qualification as an Electrically Instructed Person (EIP).
Employees who perform electrical-related tasks, such as resetting protective devices (e.g. circuit breaks, RCDs or motor protection devices) or enter enclosed electrical facilities or open electrical cabinets without proper instructions, may expose their supervisors to legal liability in the event of an accident.
This course provides the essential technical knowledge required for such occasional or limited electrical work. Participants learn how to perform these tasks safely and within legal boundaries.
Protect yourself from unnecessary liability—this seminar clarifies what is permitted and what is not within the scope of an EIP’s responsibilities.

Important

An Electrically Instructed Person always works under the direction and supervision of a qualified electrician (EFK).
This does not mean that the electrician must always be present; rather, they must ensure at suitable intervals that the EIP follows the given instructions and that the work is being performed safely.

Course Format

1 day seminar including a final knowledge assessment leading to a qualification certificate in accordance with:

• DGUV Regulation 3, Section 3 (1) (German Social Accident Insurance)
• VDE 1000 10, Section 3.3 (German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies)
• DGUV Regulation 1, Section 7

1 seminar day, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Non-electrical personnel performing occasional and limited electrical activities

Completion

Participants receive a certificate of qualification upon passing the assessment; otherwise, a certificate of attendance including a detailed summary of course contents will be provided.
