EiP – Electrically instructed Person – Testing portable electrical equipment

This course qualifies participants as Electrically Instructed Persons (EIPs) for testing portable electrical equipment and devices according to VDE 0701 and VDE 0702, operating within a testing team as defined in DGUV Information 203-071.
Untrained personnel conducting such tests expose supervisors to legal liability in case of accidents. The training covers theoretical foundations, practical implementation, updates to current standards, and solutions to recurring testing challenges.
Participants discuss practical issues with peers and learn their legal boundaries as an EIP during their tasks. They exercises hands-on measurement compliant with the latest VDE 0701/0702 specifications using proper test equipment.

Key Requirement

EIPs work exclusively in testing teams under the direction and supervision of a qualified tester (per TRBS 1203, Section 2(6)). The qualified tester retains responsibility for test execution, result evaluation, and documentation (DGUV Information 203-071).

Course Format

3-day seminar with final knowledge assessment, issuing qualification certificate per DGUV Regulation 3 §3(1), VDE 1000-10 §3.3, and DGUV Regulation 1 §7.

What to Bring

Participants should bring their own test equipment for practical exercises.

3 seminar days, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. each
